About me......
Hello, and thank you for visiting my website.
I’m a counsellor and supervisor based in Silloth, Cumbria, and alongside being a mother and grandmother, my work is one of the great joys of my life. I offer counselling and supervision in a way that is warm, grounded, and deeply respectful of each person’s pace and needs.
I work full‑time in my private practice, offering sessions face‑to‑face, online, by telephone, and through walk‑and‑talk therapy. I am trained across all counselling platforms and have almost fifteen years of experience. Alongside my private work, I also support members of the Fire Service and County Council staff and their families.
I am an Accredited Member of the BACP and listed on the Counselling Directory and Psychotherapy Today.
🌱 My Approach
I specialise in working with children, young people, adults, older adults, and counselling students. I take confidentiality and safeguarding extremely seriously, offering a safe, contained, and non‑judgmental space where clients can explore whatever is troubling them.
I work at your pace. We review every three or four sessions to ensure the work is meeting your needs and helping you move forward. You choose how often you see me, how long we work together, and when you feel ready to end. Autonomy and choice are central to my ethos.
As an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, I draw from a range of theories and models to create a way of working that is tailored to you. I care deeply about my clients and am committed to being the best counsellor I can be.
🌼 Professional Standards
I am fully insured, receive regular supervision, hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, and am committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
🌊 How Counselling Can Help
If you’re experiencing anxiety, loss, bereavement, illness, or any difficulty affecting your day‑to‑day life, counselling can offer a space to talk openly and be heard without judgment. Together, we explore what’s happening for you and find ways to help you cope, heal, and move forward. Confidentiality is always upheld, with any exceptions explained clearly in our first meeting.
🌟 Your First Session
Our first session is an initial meeting of around an hour. I’ll explain how I work, gather some information, and invite you to ask any questions. Together, we decide whether we feel comfortable working with one another. Every client is unique, and there is no one‑size‑fits‑all approach.
I offer a free, no‑obligation initial meeting and have a 24‑hour cancellation policy.
