Help To Heal Online Counselling and Supervision Services.

About me......

Hello and thank you for visiting my website.

~

I am a 56 year old mother and grandmother and I have recently moved to Scotland.

~

I work full time as a counsellor and a supervisor in my Private Practice and work online and by telephone. I am trained in all counselling platforms. I also offer walk and talk counselling and supervision.

~

I have work alongside my local council and support care leavers and young people trying to find their way into employment. I also work alongside the Fire Service, offering support to staff and their families. I am registered and Accredited with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), also the Counselling Directory, Psychotherapy Today and Teams Around The Client.

~

I specialise in working with young people and children, offering support at the point of their need. I take Confidentiality and Safeguarding very seriously and offer a safe and contained space in which all my clients can explore their issues and find new resources and ways in which to make their lives happier and more fulfilling.

~

Since the Covid-19 pandemic arrived, I have been working solely through online and telephone sessions. My clients find both to be very effective, and as effective as face to face counselling.

~

There are many reasons for choosing to work in this way; no travelling, being able to access counselling from your own home and comfort. It may suit your working hours better, or it may be that you're just not ready to face anyone as you talk about your issues. Maybe you have a disability that makes accessing counselling very difficult or even impossible. Whatever the reason, I find working this way very beneficial for all my clients.

~

It takes real courage to begin counselling, so the fact that you are here and reading this means you have taken the first step. Ask yourself what you need from a counsellor, and what you wish to achieve from your sessions.

~

I work at my client's pace, to rush them means to lose them, I also review every three or four sessions to make sure that my clients are getting what they need and are beginning to move forward.

~

My ethos is to give my clients full autonomy and choice about how they work with me, they chose how often they see me, they decide how long they work with me, they can end the work whenever they feel they are ready, or if it is not what they expected.  I care deeply for all my clients, and I am passionate about what I do, I always work hard at being the best counsellor that I can be.

~

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and I offer a free, no-obligation initial meeting to all prospective clients.

~

I offer counselling to Adults, Older Adults, Young People and children, Students (also Counselling Students), through long term, short term or open ended therapy. I practice as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, drawing from many theories and models in order to offer each client their own personal tailor-made way of working through their issues. I have worked as a counsellor for almost thirteen years.

~

I am a friendly and warm person, I believe that the only way to gain trust and a good professional relationship, is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for every client, I am always ethical and follow the BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

~

I work from home and use Zoom for my video sessions. This is a very safe and encrypted platform for the very confidential space that I offer.

~

I also offer telephone counselling which can be carried out over landline or mobile phones.

~

I am covered by full Indemnity Insurance, take regular monthly/fortnightly supervision, depending on my case load, and I am committed to ongoing Personal and Professional Development, and I have a current Enhanced Government Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS).

How Can Counselling Help You?

If you're experiencing anxiety, loss, bereavement, illness or any other issue that is making your day to day life difficult, speaking with a counsellor may be useful.

During counselling you are able to express yourself honestly, without being judged. A counsellor is able to talk with you and help you find ways to deal with whatever is causing you upset. It is so empowering to be listened to and understood by someone who is completely impartial, and who has no desire to judge you, but instead, wishes to help you. Your information and issues are kept completely confidential. Please note that there are some exclusions to confidentiality, they would be explained during the initial meeting.

What Will Happen At Our First Session?

My first session with clients is an initial meeting. This usually takes around an hour and it's all about gathering information. I will tell you in detail how I work and I will ask you questions in order to get a comprehensive picture of who you are and what you need from counselling. I will discuss confidentiality and fees with you. You can ask me any questions and discuss how I work, and then we can both make an educated decision about whether or not we wish to work together. If we are both happy to begin working together we will agree to do so and plan a way forward.

I consider each of my clients to be a unique person with unique needs, there is never a text book answer to working with clients, we are all looking for different answers to different issues.

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
